MALF 2025 Draws Over 20,000 Visitors, Sets Malaysia Book of Records for “Largest Sports and Classic Cars Gathering In Sepang International Circuit”

SEPANG, 18 June – The inaugural Malaysia Auto & Lifestyle Festival 2025 (MALF 2025) wrapped up its three-day run with great success, attracting over 20,000 local and international automotive enthusiasts and featuring a showcase of approximately 1,800 vehicles from a wide range of brands. 

The festival made headlines by officially setting a new Malaysia Book of Records entry for the “Largest Gathering of Sports and Classic Cars in Sepang International Circuit,” with a total number of 1000 cars assembled.

The recognition ceremony, held at Sepang International Circuit, was officiated by MALF Organiser Jon Tan and Coordinator Dato’ Alex, who jointly received the certificate from Mr Edwin Yeoh, Operations Manager at Malaysia Book Of Records.

In his speech, Jon Tan expressed his gratitude to all involved, stating that the achievement reflected the team's dedication and the strong support received from various sectors.

He emphasized that MALF 2025 is not only a celebration of the automotive community but a multicultural showcase and a platform to promote Malaysia’s best to the world.

Jon Tan added that the festival incorporated cultural dance performances, diverse food stalls, and enthusiast car displays—showcasing Malaysia’s vibrant diversity and energy. 

“With plans to bring the event to an international scale, the organisers aim to make MALF a flagship event contributing to Visit Malaysia Year 2026 by attracting more international visitors.”

YBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), said that the festival also attracted international visitors from Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, thereby strengthening regional ties and promoting Malaysian culture.

“The organisation of MALF2025 not only celebrates the excellence of the motoring world but also serves as a significant promotional initiative in the lead-up to Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026). This aligns with the Malaysia MADANI aspiration to further strengthen the nation’s tourism sector.”

The legends of speed gathered on stage to share their insights and experiences from the automotive world.


A major highlight of the festival was the Legends Of Speed segment showcasing Malaysia’s rich throve of racing champions and winners.

Fairuz Fauzy, former Formula 1 & A1 GP driver, highlighted the importance of using proper race tracks for safety, stating, “The public road is not a racetrack. Only use official circuits like Sepang to race safely.”

Zen Low, a successful GT and LMP racer, spoke on the challenges of securing sponsorships but also the potential of social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok for building a racer's personal brand.

Tengku Djan, known as the “Prince of Drift” and one of the pillars of motorsports in Malaysia, emphasized on the importance of self-discipline and dedication to the craft.

Karamjit Singh, known as the “Flying Sikh” shared his experience and challenges racing on the world stage.

Alex Wong, Malaysia’s most successful Jet Ski racer took the audience behind the scenes of racing, into team management and sponsorship hurdles.

Sonny Soh, the only two-time Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix Champion made a rare appearance and thrilled the audience with stories of his racing struggles and success from the 70s

Akash Nandy, youngest winner of Asian Lemans LMP2 racing, elaborated on how competitive racing has become today with only milli-seconds separating the grid.

The event welcomed distinguished guests including Yang Amat Mulia Dato Tunku Hassan Ibni Tunku Mohamed Archibald, YBH Dato Md Zuki Abd Halim, Ministry of Home Affair, Bhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, YBH Dato Vincent Lim Prihatin Malaysia, YBH Tuan Haison Jahudin Ministry of Education Malaysia, Tuan Azrin bin Borhan Director of JPJ Selangor, Tuan Muzlefa bin Kamarudin Ketua Seksyen Operasi JPJ Selangor, ACP Tuan Azman Shariat OCPD KLIA, ACP Tuan Norhizam bin Bahaman OCPD Sepang and Supt. Tuan Abdul Malik bin Hasim OCPD Nilai.

MALF 2025 offered a comprehensive lineup of attractions such as the Legends of Speed Appearances, Auto ICONS Exhibition, MALF Mega Gathering, Malaysia Bike Festival, Classique at MALF Concours Of Elegance, JDM Salon Display, Track Day Fest, Malaysia Bike Festival, sim racing and one of the crowd-favourite Drift Taxi. 


High-octane drift performances thrilled the crowd, showcasing top-tier driving skills and adrenaline-fueled action at MALF 2025. 


Visitors were treated to thrilling on-track action with professional and enthusiast racers, as well as live drift and track demos by some of the Legends of Speed themselves. At the Mega Gathering, there was everything from custom modifieds, to classics and exotic cars.

The Legends of Speed including Zen Low, Karamjit Singh, Akash Nandy, Alex Wong, Tengku Djan Ley, Sonny Soh, and Fairuz Fauzy made special appearances, engaging with fans and demonstrating their driving prowess on track.

Beyond automotive experiences, the festival celebrated Malaysia’s cultural richness with performances like the Muhibbah Drum, Sarawak and Sabah traditional dances, and Joget, alongside a wide array of local delicacies.

MALF 2025 was strongly supported by automotive communities and lifestyle groups, including BMW Club Malaysia, Lamborghini Owners Malaysia, McLaren Owner’s Community, Mustang Club Malaysia, Porsche Club Malaysia, Route 77 Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur, and more.

As the sun sets on MALF 2025, one thing is clear—this was more than just a car show. It was an automotive movement, with all quarters coming together at full throttle and at short notice. With record-breaking crowds, unforgettable experiences, and roaring engines still echoing through Sepang, MALF has cemented its place as a must visit event on Malaysia’s festival calendar.
