5TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON OIL PALM BIOMASS BRINGS IN DELEGATES FROM AFRICA & ASIA PASIFIC REGION
Kuala Lumpur, 14 April 2025. The 5th International Conference on Oil Palm Biomass, with the theme “Creating Potential Wealth from Oil Palm Biomass” is happening on 14-15th April at the Berjaya Hotel Resort, Kuala Lumpur.
Participants from countries as far as Nigeria are taking part. Instead of the usual paper presentations, the conference adopts a refreshing format of a series of panel discussions, dealing with issues surrounding creating wealth from an undervalued resource, the oil palm biomass.
Organised by the Malaysian Exporters Academy, this premier event brings together industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and innovators from around the world to explore sustainable and profitable solutions for transforming oil palm biomass into high-value products.
The conference serves as a global platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration in the fields of bioenergy, bioproducts, and circular economy strategies for the palm oil industry. Renowned speakers from academia, industry, and government will share cutting-edge research and case studies on biomass valorization. Advancements in biomass conversion, biorefining, waste-to-wealth technologies, and sustainable practices are on the cards.
The conference explores investment prospects, commercialization strategies, and public-private partnerships in the biomass sector. It provides the opportunity to connect with global stakeholders to foster partnerships and drive the bioeconomy forward.
As echoed by YB Minister of Plantations and Commodities, Dato Seri Johari Abdul Ghani in his keynote address which was read by his Deputy, Datuk Chang Foong Hin, "Oil palm biomass presents immense potential for economic and environmental benefits.
This conference will highlight innovative pathways to unlock its value, promoting sustainability while creating new revenue streams for the industry."
